The Don Versus JBL: Who Would Win In 2020?
Recently, there's been a whirlwind of controversy around a certain businessman and Fox News contributor. What seems like thousands of people have chimed in to voice their thoughts. We’ve heard from former and current coworkers, heads of company, and more about this issue. That’s right folks, the JBL bullying accusations were the talk of the internet for weeks. Wait, you thought I was talking about someone else? That might not be a coincidence. You see, it’s my belief that the “Wrestling God” John Bradshaw Layfield shares more than a little in common with a certain President of the United States. In fact, I believe this so much so that I think it could be more likely that The Don learned all of his tricks of the trade from the self-described “American Hero” JBL. By looking at three different factors that I believe make up a great leader of the free world, I hope to determine if JBL is the one with the true mind for politics instead of the current Commander in Chief.
Economy
Strong economic knowledge is essential to running a nation and both of these Wrestlemania Headliners have shown they may have the proper budgetary abilities. Donald Trump is known for the buying and selling of New York Real Estate. That, combined with a variety of other sometimes questionable purchases over his life, (anyone remember the USFL) has brought him into public opinion as something of a businessman. The most important of these purchases, at least in the eyes of this wrestling fan, was the infamous purchase of Monday Night Raw. The Don would go on to produce a Monday Night Raw that garnered the highest ratings in seven years. Not bad, for someone who has had a lot more problems in the WWE sales department. Trump’s sell of the Stone Cold Stunner at Wrestlemania always left something to be desired in my eyes and could be a potential mark against him in this hypothetical contest. JBL also has made some potential questionable purchases in his life. In fact, JBL would actually go on to actually purchase an energy drink company later in his career. The MamaJuana Energy Drinks, as they happened to be known as, did not last very long in consumer markets leaving us to mostly look at JBL’s career of selling. The self-described “Wrestling God” also got hit by his fair share of Stone Cold Stunners and took them a lot more admirably than the current Head of State. Overall, though, given the amount of New York Real Estate that has changed hands due to Donald Trump, I have to give the edge in this category to the Commander-in-Chief
Winner: Donald Trump
Border Control
I think now would be a good time to discuss a more controversial aspect of both men’s lives. And no, this won’t involve Mauro Ranello. Both of these men have had a history of controversial border policy. Trump has frequently discussed kicking out whoever he believed were the “bad hombres” here illegally in the country. On the other hand, John Bradshaw Layfield has actually kicked people back across the border. Given the questionable morality surrounding both of these policies, I have to say that this category ends in a no contest.
Winner: None of the above
Military Prowess
Finally, let’s take a look at the most important factor of them all. How do the clotheslines of the President stack up to the clotheslines of the former APA enforcer? Donald Trump has delivered one devastating clothesline in his pro wrestling career to that of fellow billionaire pal, Vince Mcmahon. For someone who has had no formal training as a professional wrestler, it looked rather impactful. Conversely, JBL has delivered a career’s worth of ring-shaking clotheslines from hell. Considering how famous JBL’s version of the lariat is, I have to give this category to the “Wrestling God”.
Winner: John Bradshaw Layfield
After looking at all the data, I can only come to the conclusion that this contest is truly a toss-up. Donald has the edge when it comes to foreign policy, yet who could negotiate effectively when being faced with a clothesline from hell? Please, let me know what you think when it comes to the clash of the businessmen.
