Top 5 Worst Wrestling Moves In WWE Today
In WWE history, there are no shortages of bad wrestling moves. Whether it be X-Pac’s bronco buster or the sock-puppeted snake strike of Santino Marella’s cobra, WWE is no stranger to terrible wrestling maneuvers. Today, I plan on looking at the least realistic, impactful, or interesting moves in the WWE today. Sometime soon, these moves may even be able to join the hallowed halls of WWE’s worst alongside technically masterpieces like the stink face and heart punch. Today, though, these five moves just get the honor of being the worst that WWE wrestlers have to offer:
This move deserves a spot on the list for it’s complete and utter lack of impact. Wrestlers are forced to sell this vibrating foot choke as an impactful move in many matches where they are also forced to take high impact knee strikes, kicks, and back suplexes. With this in mind, it seems necessary that even the King of Strong Style earns a spot on this list.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of the Samoan Submission Machine. It’s just that I feel like somebody with an intimidating moniker like that deserves a finishing move more impressive than a simple sleeper hold. Sure, the MMA fans will say that this is clearly a rear naked choke but let’s be real, this move has about the same effect as Kevin Owen’s chinlock and is treated with a thousand times more respect.
Whenever I see Ambrose lean out of the second rope during a match, I let out an audible groan. In what way am I supposed to believe that these top tier fighters aren’t able to anticipate a move that takes almost a minute to complete? At least WWE has start to let major rivals like The Miz and Kevin Owens reverse it on occassion or else this sloppy mess of a maneuver may be topping this list.
I know what you’re thinking, with a name like that, how could this move possibly be bad? Well trust me when I say it, this finisher is downright terrible. It essentially boils down to a small man flying off the top rope and delivering the world’s worst frog splash to an opponent. Cass doesn’t even make contact with Enzo half the time in spite of the alleged tag team aspect of the finisher. When I see guys like Big E delivering huge running splashes multiple times in a match and still not winning, I find it hard to believe that a flying Enzo would result in many wins.
Unfortunately, I do not feel the glow when it comes to Naomi’s kick combo. This spot was originally reserved for the rear view, another unfortunate weapon in Naomi’s arsenal, yet this move just bothers me more. Now I do believe that Naomi is one of the better wrestlers in the women’s division on Smackdown right now, which is why these kicks bother me that much more. Many times, Naomi’s feet don’t even make contact with their intended target and even if they do, they land in such a way that it looks like a slap to the arm would hurt more. This is without even mentioning the fact that anybody caught in this move should be able to just step backwards or to the side slightly to escape, yet for whatever reason no one ever does. It’s this combination of suspended belief and lack of impact that leads to me topping this list with Naomi’s kicks.
Alright, that’s my official list of the worst moves in the WWE today. If you think I missed something, am just flat out wrong, or maybe you even agree with this list, sound off in the comments below.
