WWE 2K18 Announcement Reaction And Discussion
Yesterday, WWE announced their annual edition of their flagship video game WWE 2K18. An epic trailer was rolled out to premiere the game featuring cover athlete, Seth Rollins. This comes at the heels of days of teasers on Twitter featuring various famous wrestling props and the hashtag #BLN1. So far, details are sparse as far as what will actually be included in the game, nevertheless; I plan on breaking down all the details available thus far to analyze if we all should be thoroughly hyped for WWE and 2K’s latest offering.
First off, I would like to get out of the way my general opinion of the trailer. All in all, the trailer was great. It looked very cinematic, even more so than last year’s Suplex City trailer in my eyes, and felt like it told a story. Speaking of stories, that’s what I feel is the most important question that we don’t have an answer for at this point. If this trailer was meant to show off the introduction for a linear story mode, it would signify the return of what I feel has been the most sorely missed feature in the past several years. How amazing would it be if each person could take control of a variety of WWE stars in order to figure out and stop the Architect’s nefarious plans? I would play that over 2K showcase any day.
Overall, considering how intriguing of a story the new WWE 2K trailer told, I believe this has been the most successful preview of a WWE game in recent years. We probably won’t discover any more details until Summerslam, so let’s discuss potentials. What do you all want to see in WWE 2K18? I think it’s pretty clear that I am hoping most for a dedicated story mode, but perhaps that’s just not your cup of tea. Leave a comment and tell me what you want to see in the next WWE game and hope, along with me, that this game will surpass all of our collective expectations.
